© 2011 Eric Grover - Equine Sports Massage Therapy I started using Eric's services at the recommendation from a friend. I own and show a 10 year old Paint mare in the all around classes at pleasure shows, and noticed that she was not performing at the top of her game.  I also noticed that she was getting uncomfortable during shows, and acting up.  It obviously frustrated me as an exhibitor with all the time and effort I had put into her, and having it not come to fruition. As a horse owner, I wanted something better for her to make her comfortable & happy with her job. Eric started working on "Roxy" in the late winter of 2011 and took time to discuss problems that I was having, and goals I'd like to achieve with her. He spent a good amount of time working on her, and explaining what he was doing along the way so I understood.  He also showed me a number of stretches I could do pre- and post riding to increase the effectiveness of his sessions. I immediately felt a difference on Roxy after the first ride, she was much more supple, and was using her hind end much easier than she'd ever done before. Our rides and training were much more pleasant, and Roxy stood willingly for her stretches as she'd learned they made her feel better for her workouts. Roxy's second session with Eric was just a few short days ago, and again I've noticed an improvement in her performance. Eric took the time to discuss what had happened since his last session, and of course, explained what was going on this time with some knots coming closer to the surface.  Even though Roxy was a little hormonal, as all mares are in the spring, he was patient and kind with her. I must admit, some people look at me funny when I say I've scheduled massages for my horse. Since I have back issues myself and regularly receive massages for myself, it seemed only natural. The cost effectiveness of her massage is a virtual no brainer, considering all the other more expensive options, and the immediate results they provide with minimal invasiveness compared to injections.  I'm thrilled with the results and look forward to being a long time customer of Eric's.
